Gregory’s backpacks and luggage are among my favorite products. In my family, we often fight over who gets the Gregory Quadro Hardcase, but as the only female in the house, I usually end up with it by playing the “Mom Card.” However, the addition of the Alpaca Duffel has added one more piece of luggage to fight over.
We opted for the 60L Alpaca Duffel, which comes shipped in a packing cube that doubles as organization for the bag. This makes it a great option for bringing along as an additional bag on trips where you may accumulate too many souvenirs. When packed down, the Alpaca Duffel is about the size of two sandwich bags side by side.
The duffel opens up to a large inner compartment with two mesh pockets for easy organization. The interior provides ample space for packing, allowing for various organization options. The Alpaca Duffel is made of recycled polyester fabric that is heavy duty and triple-layered at the bottom, with a TPU coating for protection against the elements. Although the YKK zipper is not watertight, the duffel is water-resistant, not waterproof.
While advertised as a duffel, the Alpaca Duffel can also be worn as a backpack with removable padded shoulder straps. The carry straps are reinforced with internal fiberglass for added comfort and durability.
The Alpaca Duffel is available in three colors, with more to come in Spring 2024. It comes in sizes ranging from 40L to 100L, with the 60L retailing for under $160 on the Gregory website.
